HERMITAGE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A woman died when she drowned at J. Percy Priest Lake in Hermitage Sunday.

Metro police say 34-year-old Tina L. Broyhill, of Nashville was swimming with friends when she began to call for help. Her friends told officials she went under the water around 8 p.m. and never resurfaced.

Nashville Fire Department divers responded to a water rescue just after that at the Cook’s Landing Recreation Area off Old Hickory Boulevard.

Rescue crews with the Nashville Fire Department and Office of Emergency Management recovered her body from the water around 9:25 p.m. Officers were told Broyhill was not a good swimmer.
